Mirum Ocean 3D Digital Billboard

Type: Mirum’s Project
My Role: Start to End of 3D Animation Production including Ocean FX
3D Software: Cinema 4D, X-Particles, Nuke
Rendering: Redshift

At the entrance of Mirum, there is a 100-inch digital screen where I designed a 3D digital billboard animation using various software such as Cinema 4d, Redshift, and X-Particles. The process involved simulating cache and converting VDB to mesh which took a day, and another day was spent on 3D rendering. Furthermore, I incorporated a wet map to enhance the realistic wet effect on the wall during the compositing process.

Recently, there has been a trend of 3D billboards circulating on the internet. In light of this, Mirum has made the decision to showcase our capabilities by creating a 3D ocean animation for our 100-inch digital screen at the entrance.

Water Simulation + Wet Map

The wall is made of concrete, which means that it gets wet when it comes into contact with water. To achieve a realistic wet effect, I used Cinema 4D and X-Particles to create a wet map pass. Next, I combined all the elements in Nuke, where I darkened the wall using the wet map. However, I also added highlights within the wet map to enhance the moisture and wetness effect. The outcome was great !

The End

The presentation of this project has come to a close. I sincerely hope that you found it enjoyable. Thank you very much.
