I was working with Meta to create NFT character to celebrate the Taiwanese LGBTQ creative community in a virtual safe space.
To launch the project, we will first form a virtual LGBTQ+ alliance via “Bobba Man,”a.k.a. Bubble tea as the most iconic symbol of Taiwanese Identity to talk about pride not only to the locals but also to the world.
A collection of NFT profile picture art will be created to enable every community member to badge up and speak loud about supporting representation, equality diversity & inclusion for all.
Breaking down the various parts of the character is a crucial aspect of 3D production. This allows programmers to combine different elements from different characters to create over 1000 unique NFTs.
NFT Character 3D Modelling
The process of creating a 3D model for a bubble tea character was straightforward. The branding guidelines were minimalistic and uncluttered, which made the design process easier. Collaborating with my partner, a creative director, we were able to establish the character's appearance before I proceeded to model it using Blender. One of the more challenging aspects of the design was the character's furry eyebrows. I experimented with different fur densities, lengths, and colors until I found a combination that looked visually pleasing.
3D Render with Cycles
Cycles rendering engine in Blender is among my preferred ones because it can maximize GPU rendering power, and the rendering speed is impressively fast. Additionally, the viewport update is almost instant. That's why I opted to use Cycles X to render all the characters.
Pride@NFTea Metaverse
Pride@NFTea Metaverse is a fun hangout space for LGBTQ people to browse the NFT boba collection.
