Experiment with Houdini

Type: Personal Project
My Role: Start to End of 3D Production (include FLIP simulation)
Software:
Houdini
Rendering: Redshift

This is a personal project to explore Houdini software, wherein I created a FLIP simulation showcasing milk splashes. The simulation was intended for a food commercial scene where strawberries drop from the top and collide with the milk, resulting in splashes. The simulation runs in high frame rate and slow motion, which translates to extensive simulation and rendering time.

FLIP Simulation with Houdini

Generating the correct shape of a splash requires numerous attempts. I conduct experiments with various factors such as particle separation size, substeps, particle advection, and velocity. As the camera angle is in close proximity, I must decrease the particle separation size to achieve more intricate splash details, which results in extended simulation hours.

The End

The presentation of this project has come to a close. I sincerely hope that you found it enjoyable. Thank you very much.
